National Gluten Month

Well, I guess it's not technically a "national" holiday, but for me this next month is officially Gluten Month (or "Glutvember"). Due to some tests I need to have done (I won't go into the gruesome details) to determine what my problem is, I need to start eating gluten again. I have from today until December 4th to eat all of the things I've been dying to eat for the past year. Baked goods, bread, pancakes! I can't wait! And this is the perfect month to be celebrating gluten, because my birthday is coming up, which requires cake. And then Thanksgiving comes after that, which involves rolls, pies, etc. It really couldn't have been timed better.

I found out the news of the upcoming month of gluten in the late afternoon today. This is significant only because if it would have been in the morning, I would have gone straight to the Park Cafe and gotten some french toast. Instead, I went home and ate some Wheat Thins. I know that's not really starting off with a "bang" or anything, but it's all I had available to me at the time.

My goal for tomorrow is to have a hamburger. Don't worry, I'll let you know how it goes. And it wouldn't kill my friends and family to show some support by observing the Glutvember holiday season right along with me.

P.S. I promise this isn't going to turn into just a boring food allergy blog.

Hurray! We should hurry and have you over for dinner during this month because I have been known to accidentally serve foods with allergens in them to people who shouldn't be eating them, (ie, msg to my inlaws, it gives them wicked diahrea) and I wouldn't want that to happen to you!

Live it up! Have a cinnamon roll for me. Not that I can't eat one myself, but it sounds good for you to eat one for me :)

Go and get yourself a Baskin -Robbins ice cream cake, stop at wendy's for a junior bacon cheeseburger and end with a trip to Olive Garden. That is was my husband Jeff would do if he could have gluten again. We support you:)

how's the gluten treating you so far? I think when i talked to you the other day you were feeling sick from all the gluten you were eating... but just in case i was mistaken and you feel great from all the gluten you've been eating, i think you should have some donuts. and then maybe and oatmeal cream pie or two.
i'm hungry.
